Toddler jargon translations May 2011

Toot-toot: Car, bus, train, all-inclusive
Na-na: Banana
Ap-ple: Apple, orange, banana, pear, anything that resembles fruit
Nose: Nose, but also sunglasses, glasses, things you put on your nose
Bay-bay: Baby, with a french accent, age 0 to 3 inclusive, also any dolls
NO!: No
YES!: Yes
MINE!: Hers, I mean, Mine
Pwee-tty: Pretty (girly girls i seem to have)
Peas!: Please
ah you: Thank you
Goot!: Good
Baa-boon: Balloon, really, it's not a personal comment, i am thankful we live in a mostly francophone area for this reason
Boob: Book, ditto above
Milt: Milk
Ya-toot: Yogurt in French
Yaaaa, as in "Papa-Yaaa", "Mama-Yaaa" etc.: we finally worked out it means "Here", as in Papa here, Mama here etc.
Kor kor: Big brother
Jie jie: Big sister
More! or Encore!: More
No more: No more
Wabbit: Rabbit, where did she get this elmer fudd accent?
Bear: Bear, lion, tiger, goat, similar looking (size?) animals
Woof-woof: Dog
Meow: Cat
Ooo ooo: Monkey
Moooooo: Cow, ok I have to start teaching the real names instead of the sounds they make
Eeeep: Sheep, working on the above
or-sey: Horse-y, ditto
Burt: Bird, really, nobody is named Burt around here
Bedt: Bread
dring-dring: Drink
eet-eet: Eat
all-done: All done, finish, from her baby sign language
Up!: Look up, or lift me up, or help me get up :)
ook ook: Look
OH, owh: Uh-uh, as in I'm in trouble or my siblings are in trouble
boh-boh: boo-boo in french
AW!: Ouch!, usually followed by the above
Toy!: Toy
doh-doh: sleep in french
O-K: Ok
Ah-corrr: french version of above
um, um, um, um: Come, come, come, come... very insistent toddler she is
Wear?: Where?
Ka-ka: Caca in french, i.e. poo-poo or anything that seems dirty to her
Pee-pee: Pee in english and french, means she wants her diaper changed
'Ats dat?: What's dat, I mean, that; can also be shortened to "dat?" Used a lot when we're reading as she's learning words and signs
grunt grunt: Pig, yep have to work on the names now
shoo shoo: shoes
ook ook: Can also mean book, at least today it did
'ug 'ug: Hug Hug :)
Yeeaahh...: The cool version of Yes
too...yooo...: To the tune of "Happy birthday to...you...", means happy birthday, or cake, or candles, or presents, she's catching on to this

My favourite: Yay yove you...: I Love you :), me too darling baby

Baby sign languages: most of the above, plus dance, kiss, I'll add more later gotta go she's doing "OH owh..."
